About Sri VSR Sarma:
Date of Birth: 18.02.1941
Place of birth: Cherukupalli, Guntur district
Native place: Pallekona, Repalle tq, Guntur district
After serving in Andhra Posts and Telegraph Department in Nizamabad and Vijayawada from 1960 to 1973 was transferred to Mumbai in 1974 on promotion. Served in Bombay Telephone District from 1974 to 1983 as Accounts Officer and Department of Telecom Maharashtra Circle at Bombay from 1984 to 1998 as Sr. Accounts Officer and Asst.Chief Accounts Officer and retired from services on 30-04-1998 from office of GM, Telecom, Kalyan after having served as Chief Accounts Officer from 1995 to 1998.
He has written several short stories during the period from 1960 to 1974 published in various Telugu magazines. His other works are

In 1958 after passing SSLC in flying colours, the author could not pursue higher studies due to family circumstances. He was a keen observer of the socio economic problems faced by contemporary generation and exploitation of woman in particular. This story of shaantha, an idealistic woman who sacrificed her personal life for her family sake has thus emerged prortraying shaantha as an idealist and a fighter against all odds.
